Tirana to Dubrovnik

Meet with your guide at your hotel lobby and continue driving north through the beautiful views of the Albanian countryside. On our arrival, we visit the symbol of Shkoder, Rozafa castle. It was built by the Illyrian tribe of Labeat in the 4th century B.C. and it offers great panoramic views of the Lake Skadar, Buna and Drin river, and the glorious Albanian Alps. Later we head to the center city to visit St. Stephen's cathedral, walk along the promenade, and visit the Great Mosque. Shkoder is famous for its cuisine and a traditional lunch of local crap fish should not be missed.

Next, we cross the border and reach Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro. Podgorica is relatively a new city with many modern buildings and past communist construction. We will take a tour of the old town and Ribnica bridge. Accommodation in Podgorica.

After breakfast, our journey continues north of Montenegro. First, we stop at Ostrog Monastery. This medieval monastery is built inside a cave and is rich with myths. The next destination is the largest national park in the country. Durmitor National Park is packed with green forests, beautiful lakes, deep canyons, and high peaks. Tara Bridge is a great construction from World War II and is a popular tourist attraction. We will take a tour around the recreational walking paths of Black Lake. Accommodation in Zabljak.

From the mountains, we head down to the Montenegrin coast. The old town of Kotor is a gem hidden in Boca Bay. The medieval town has a lot to offer and the walking tour through the characteristic Venetian houses feels different. Next, we drive to Budva, the capital of Montenegrin tourism. Budva has long beaches, delicious seafood, many cafes, and a lovely small old town. Accommodation in Budva.

Leaving behind the Adriatic coast, the trip goes to Bosnia and Hercegovina. Today we will explore the southern part of the country. Blagaj is a little town situated near the river Buna. The Blagaj Tekke stands by the source of the river and it is an important religious destination. After lunch, we drive to the city of Mostar. The old town by the Neretva River has a rich history since the Ottoman Empire. The walking tour takes you around the old bazaar and Stari Most, after which the city is named. In the morning we head to explore the capital of Bosnia and Hercegovina. Sarajevo is a city where different civilizations and ethnicities have met. These empires have left their trademark in the town. The walking tour takes you across the Latin Bridge, the starting point of WWI. While walking with the guide, you will see the Bascarsija area, Gazi Husrev-beg mosque, Sarajevo city hall, and many other landmarks. Next, we transfer to Tunnel of Hope to learn about the Bosnian War. Here is shown how the locals resisted during the Siege of Sarajevo. In the afternoon we drive back to Mostar.

After breakfast, we get ready to cross the border and visit the gem of the Adriatic Sea, Dubrovnik. The old town has been beautifully curated by the Dalmatian people since medieval times and now welcomes tourists from around the globe. While walking in the narrow streets, you will admire the Rector's Palace, Franciscan church, Stradun, one of the oldest pharmacies in the world, and the great surrounding walls.
