Day 1. Sarajevo – Mostar (151 km)
Begin this rich experience in Sarajevo, where you'll visit the historic Baščaršija bazaar, the Latin Bridge, and the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque, offering insights into the city's diverse culture. Visit the Tunnel of Hope to learn more about history of 1990’s wars. Afterward, head to Mostar to see the iconic Stari Most (Old Bridge), explore the charming old town, and enjoy the picturesque views of the Neretva River, making it a memorable journey through Bosnia's unique heritage.
Day 2. Mostar – Kotor – Budva (210 km)
Today, we journey to Montenegro to explore the stunning Adriatic coast. Begin your adventure in Kotor Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site nestled in the scenic Bay of Kotor, where its winding streets and quaint squares were designed to confuse invaders in the past and continue to intrigue visitors today. Next, we head to Budva, a historic town established by the Venetian Empire, known as the heart of Montenegro’s tourism scene, featuring beautiful beaches, a lively marina, and an array of cafes that capture the vibrant summer atmosphere.
Day 3. Budva – Shkoder – Tirane (190 km)
In the morning, we travel into Albania and explore the historic Rozafa Castle, a symbol of Shkoder that dates back to the 4th century B.C. and provides stunning views of Lake Skadar, the Buna, and the Drin River. Afterward, we’ll visit St. Stephen's Cathedral, stroll along the lively promenade, and admire the Great Mosque in the city center. In the afternoon, we head to Tirana, where you can unwind and experience the vibrant nightlife in the Bllok area.
Day 4. Tirane
We set off to explore Tirana at a relaxed pace, uncovering the charm of this vibrant city that has evolved over the last 200 years. Discover notable landmarks from the Ottoman era, including the Et’hem Bey Mosque and the Clock Tower, as your local guide takes you to the Pyramid of Tirana, Mother Teresa Square, and Martyrs’ Boulevard. Following a traditional lunch, we will visit Mount Dajt to explore BunkArt, the largest bunker in Albania, originally constructed during the 1970s for communist leaders during the Cold War, before enjoying some free time in the afternoon.
Day 5. Tirane – Ohrid (135 km)
The journey proceeds to North Macedonia, where Ohrid awaits with its stunning lakeside views and rich history. Once a significant stop along the Roman trade route Via Egnatia, Ohrid is home to countless churches, ancient ruins, and cultural influences from centuries of trade and interaction. Your walking tour will take you through the old town, past the impressive amphitheater, and up to the medieval Samuel's Fortress, offering breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding landscape. In the afternoon relax by the shores of the lake.
Day 6. Ohrid – Matka canyon – Skopje (185 km)
After a refreshing morning in the serene city of Ohrid, we head toward the capital of North Macedonia. Our journey includes a stop at Matka Canyon, where you can admire the stunning emerald lake and possibly join a kayaking adventure for a unique experience. In Skopje, explore historical sites like Kale Fortress for panoramic views, stroll through the vibrant Old Bazaar to visit Mustafa Pasha Mosque, and discover the city's Ottoman heritage, including the iconic Stone Bridge, Macedonia Square, and the Memorial House of Mother Teresa.
Day 7. Skopje – Prishtine – Skopje (185 km)
Set out on an enriching day trip from North Macedonia to Kosovo, the youngest country in Europe, beginning with a visit to the stunning Gracanica Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its exquisite medieval icons and frescoes. Next, explore Prishtina on a guided walking tour that includes highlights like the Mother Theresa Cathedral, Skanderbeg Square, and the Kosovo Museum, along with the unique National Library and the iconic NEWBORN monument. Transfer to Kosovo Polje, the area where the famous war between the Ottoman Empire and the Serbian Empire took place in the 14th century. In the afternoon we return to Skopje.
Day 8. Skopje – Rila – Sofia (340 km)
After breakfast, we journey into Bulgaria, winding through majestic mountain scenery to uncover the enchanting Rila Monastery. Founded in the 10th century by Saint John of Rila, this UNESCO World Heritage site is a testament to Bulgarian heritage, showcasing magnificent churches rich with exquisite frescoes and icons. After enjoying a delightful lunch in the mountains, we continue to Sofia, where you can unwind and explore the lively atmosphere of Vitosha Boulevard at your leisure.
Day 9. Sofia
In the morning, meet our local guide for an engaging city tour of Sofia, a city steeped in history that dates back to antiquity, where you can explore the ruins of ancient Serdika. Your guided tour includes iconic sites such as the magnificent Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, a symbol of the city, as well as the National Art Gallery, the Parliament Building, St. George Rotunda, and the Banya Bashi Mosque, where you’ll also have the chance to taste the refreshing local spring water. Afterward, enjoy some free time in the afternoon to discover Sofia at your own pace.
Day 10. Sofia – Airport
