Gjirokaster is a city in Albania listed under UNESCO World Heritage. It is well-known for the
medieval fortress and the characteristic stone house. Additionally, it has brought to life many
famous people, among them ex-communist Albanian leader Enver Hoxha and the international
writer Ismail Kadare.
