Itinerary
This guided daily tour starts from any hotel in Tirana and Durres. Our professional tour guide will meet at your hotel lobby and drive down south to the city of Gjirokaster, located at Drinos Valley and surrounded by the Wide Mountain, and Zagoria National Park.
On our arrival, we start the city tour by visiting inside the Argjiro fortress and the museum, which used to be a prison during communist times. Next, we visit Zekate House, a symbol of the amazing local architecture. A walk through the old town includes a visit to Bazar Mosque, Gjirokaster Obelisk, and the Bazar area. Local people of Gjirokaster have been recognized since medieval times as great handcrafters of stones, wood carving, and handmade work carpets by women. You will have free time to explore the city at your own pace and try some delicious local dishes such as Qifqi (handmade rice balls), Ali pasha soup (cream soup with meatballs), and Oshaf (traditional dessert with dry figs).
In the afternoon, we drive back to your hotel.
